Library and information services

Non-CSP members are welcome to use our library for reference purposes. Find out what's available and how to book a visit on this page.

Although the CSP Library and Information Service (LIS) exists to support members we are also happy to see prospective members, other health care professionals, librarians, members of the media, and members of the public who may want to use the library for reference purposes.

The CSP Library contains published materials relating to physiotherapy and rehabilitation including:

  • A comprehensive range of journals
  • A collection of books, reports, government documents and 'grey literature'
  • A good range of clinical guidelines and standards
  • Conference proceedings
  • CSP publications

You can use our online library catalogue without logging in. Please note though that the catalogue contains some links which are blocked to non-members.

Copying Services

All library copying in the UK, including the CSP Learning Resource Centre (LRC) is governed by the regulations set out in the Copyright Designs and Patents Act 1988 amended 2003.

The CSP Library and Information Service (LIS) offers a photocopying service to non-members. We can copy journal articles, sections of books and reports etc but due to copyright regulations we can only make one copy of one article from a single journal issue. From books and reports the copying limit is one chapter or up to 5% of the book/report. As stated on the copyright declaration form photocopying must be for research of a non-commercial nature or for private study.

Non-member charges

  • £5.00 per article/chapter held in the CSP LRC (sent by post)
  • £7.50 per article/chapter held in the CSP LRC (faxed - same day service if request received before 4pm, otherwise next working day)

Before orders can be processed we must receive a signed Non-member photocopy request/declaration form for each article/chapter requested, and a payment form for each order. We are legally unable to accept an electronic signature, forms must therefore be delivered in person, sent by post or faxed to +44 (0) 20 7306 6629.

Visiting the Learning Resource Centre

The LRC collection is primarily aimed at CSP members, but the Library and Information Services team also welcomes members of the public, or other health professionals who have an interest in physiotherapy/ rehabilitation information.

All visitors require an appointment to access the LRC. This is to ensure that the LIS staff can provide the facilities you require.

Appointments must be booked at least one working day in advance eg Monday bookings must be made by 5pm on the previous Friday. Appointments can be made by calling: +44 (0)20 7306 6666.
