Vision

The CSP is developing a new vision for the future of UK physiotherapy. You can help us inform that vision.

Why is the CSP developing a new vision?

All forward-thinking organisations periodically develop a vision to convey clear messages about their aims and intended future direction.

Change across the UK health and well-being economy presents significant challenges and opportunities for UK physiotherapy. Having a confident, shared vision of physiotherapy's future is more important than ever. The current CSP vision no longer does this effectively and a fresh vision is needed.

The draft materials build directly on discussions held at a CSP member event in October 2009, as well as the CSP Charting the Future project.

Once finalised, the vision will inform how the CSP develops its new corporate strategy. It will also feed in strongly to the ongoing progression of the CSP Charting the Future project.

What does the draft aim to do?

The draft vision aims to:
  • express aspirations for the future of UK physiotherapy that are grounded in realistic projections of how the profession can and should develop over the next five years - recognising current and anticipated change presents both opportunities and challenges for physiotherapy

    How can you respond?

We want to gain your feedback on the draft vision to help us develop it further.

Once you've had the chance to look at the draft vision use our consultation pro-forma to send us your comments. Please send them via email to CSPvision@csp.org.uk by Monday 8 February.

  • be inclusive of the whole physiotherapy workforce, physiotherapy across the UK, members at all career stages, practice sectors and settings, and members in all occupational roles - while not every aspect of the draft will relate to every member, it should have broad relevance to all.

How is the draft presented?

The draft vision is presented in formats (a statement, diagram, table and explanation) that give varying depths of information. This recognises that different readers will want to engage with the materials at different levels and in different ways at different times.
