Philosophy

Put simply, the SKIPP philosophy is to enable members to publish products that collate evidence for specific clinical issues.

In more detail, this means that:

  • products seek to address a specific clinical question which is relevant to, and represents, the collective knowledge of the profession
  • member project teams will use evidence from a wide range of sources to inform a product, acknowledging different types of knowledge
  • the status and rationale for these products will be embedded into the work of the CSP and clearly promoted and communicated to members
  • topics will have a clear rationale, linked to the priorities facing the profession
  • the process for development will be timely, transparent, detailed, and agreed in the project plan
  • products will be actively disseminated using strategies to promote implementation
  • products will be developed that actively guide and encourage implementation in practice
  • each product will be evaluated as part of a continually improving programme
  • there will be a strategy for maintaining the currency of the CSP products.

Success for the CSP in the development and collection of evidence-based physiotherapy information and knowledge would be for:

  • Each individual in a project team to experience a constructive and enabling process that they enjoy, feel proud off, and that contributes to their continuing professional development,

The project to be seen through to completion with the planned outputs (for example, products) that are fit for their intended purpose and are used by the target audience Find out more in the Product development section.
