CSP Scotland response to the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Consultation on Draft Guidance

CSP Scotland fully supports the principle of safe and effective public protection and the need for appropriate steps to be taken to ensure the protection of children and vulnerable adults. The Society therefore welcomes the aims of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) legislation of ensuring unsuitable people are barred from working with children and vulnerable adults.

Nevertheless CSP Scotland wanted to raise key concerns surrounding the proposals and the implementation of the PVG Scheme, specifically in relation to the costs facing employees and students. The response is attached below.
