CSP Awards
CSP Awards are now given annually to individuals deserving special recognition for their contribution to services and the well being of patients.
The fourth annual CSP awards ceremony takes place at the Hotel Russell, London, 12th November 2010. The categories are:
- Enhancing self care and independent living.
- Rethinking the patient care pathway for long term conditions.
- Enhancing occupational health and keeping people "fit for work".
- Achieving excellence in learning, teaching, development or mentorship.
Who can nominate for an award?
Any full member of the CSP can nominate their own work or the work of their colleagues for any of the above categories.
Entries may relate to an individual chartered physiotherapist's work or the work of a team (which includes at least one chartered physiotherapist).
The winning team or individual in each category receives £500. Additionally, one of the category winners receives a £250 Physiotherapist or Physiotherapy Service of the Year award.
How the nominations are judged
The criteria developed and utilised for the Supporting Evidence in Physiotherapy Practice (SEPP 2003) are used to judge each award:
- Improved clinical outcomes for patients
- Improved access and waiting times
- Improved the working lives of staff
- Working in partnership with others
- Improved cost effectiveness
- Involvement of service users
- Clear use of data to measure and evaluate outcome
- Good use of communication and information technology
- Appropriate use of research and evidence
Please note: not all criteria will be relevant to every nomination.
