Fellowship

The CSP presents a number of its own awards each year. They fall into four categories: Fellowships, Honorary Fellowships, Distinguished Service Awards and National Awards.

These awards acknowledge and honour members of the CSP, and also some non-members. Individuals who render distinguished service to the advancement of physiotherapy, or who contribute outstanding service to the Society or excellence in an area of service to the benefit of others are all eligible for nomination. Fellowship Award

A Fellowship of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy is awarded by Council on the recommendations of the Professional Awards Committee in accordance with the Royal Charter and Bye-Laws and these regulations.

An applicant or nominee for award of Fellowship, (or Self Nomination) must be a Member of at least ten years standing who has advanced the profession as a whole, by forwarding the boundaries of professional knowledge and/or furthering the aims of the profession and the Society. Honorary Fellowship

An Honorary Fellowship of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy is awarded by Council on the recommendations of the Professional Awards Committee in accordance with the Royal Charter and Bye-Laws and these regulations.

A nominee for award of Honorary Fellowship will normally be an eminent person not eligible for a Fellowship, who has made an exceptional contribution to the advancement of physiotherapy, or rendered distinguished service to the profession. Distinguished Service Award (DSA)

To acknowledge and honour members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, who have contributed outstanding service to the Society or excellence in an area of service to the benefit of others.

Nominations for a Distinguished Service Award will be considered for members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and past and present staff of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. Nominators may however only be Chartered Physiotherapists. For more information, please see the Distinguished Service Award pack on this website.

National Award

A nominee for a National Award supported by the CSP shall be a Fellow or member of at least ten years standing who by their work as a Chartered physiotherapist has contributed significantly to patients, their community and/or to a charitable or voluntary body.

The nomination will be considered by the Chairman of the Professional Awards Committee and the Chairman of Council and if approved, the nomination will be forwarded to the Prime Minister’s office by the Chairman of Council on behalf of the CSP. The type of National awards conferred range from a Knighthood to CBE, OBE, MBE and MBEX. For more information, please see the National Awards pack on this website.
