International networks
The CSP is affiliated or linked to a number of organisations with an interest in international and European employment, human rights and campaigning issues: see the International page in the Workplace Issues section for more information.
WCPT and ER-WCPT
The Society is a founder member of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT) and is particularly involved with the European Region of WCPT (ER-WCPT).
The CSP is represented in three ER-WCPT working groups on Education, Professional Issues and EU Matters. Hot topics include the new EU directive on the mutual recognition of professional qualifications which governs migration between member states. European networking benefits us all through deepening understanding, developing cultural competence and sharing best practice on the development of quality and standards in all aspects of the profession.
The ER-WCPT website is rapidly expanding and well worth a visit for information on registration requirements and practice across the EU, statistics on migration of physiotherapists, and a range of policies which reflect the wider EU agenda as it relates to physiotherapy.
UNIFY
A three year partnership agreement between the CSP and UNIFY - the professional body for physiotherapists from the Czech Republic - was successfully completed in 2003: see the twinning programme page for further details.
