Ordering Agile publications

Agile moderates the ‘Older persons’ network pages on Interactive CSP. Current information is shared through this, including the up to date reading list from the Research officer

Regional network
Currently Agile has a structure based on regional branches. This is due to change to a national structure in 2009

Peer support/mentorship
Support is offered both through the regional structure and through iCSP

Suggested reading list
A suggested reading list of recent papers and articles is produced regularly by the research officer. This is published in Agility and on iCSP

Formal courses offered/recommended
After two years, members have access to support for courses through the Agile educational & research fund, the travel fund, and through associate membership of the British Geriatric Society. Agile members are eligible for a substantial discount on the Postural Stability Instructors course run by Later Life Training.

Agile maintains strong links with a variety of organisations concerned with Older People and their health needs. This includes:

Agile have a Research and Education fund which members of at least 2 years standing can access.

Who Can Join
  • Full membership is available to Physiotherapists who are members of the CSP.
  • Departmental membership can be offered to sites with rotational staff.
  • Associate membership is available to physiotherapists who are eligible for HPC membership but who are not CSP members and other Professionals at the discretion of the Executive Committee.
  • Student membership is available to students studying for a qualification recognised by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
  • Physiotherapy Assistants or Technical Instructors who are eligible for membership of the Assistants List of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
  • Students, TI’s, Assistants and Unemployed graduates are eligible for a reduced membership rate.
What is Expected of Members

Members are expected to attend the Agile conference and courses and share their knowledge at local level to encourage good practice. Support of local branches of Agile by attending events organised by the region is encouraged. Liaison with the Agile Executive Committee to access the expertise of officers is also recommended.

Use of the Older persons network on iCSP is also encouraged

Subscription Details

New members can join at any time. Membership runs from January to January each year. Membership forms are available from the website, iCSP, Agility or the Secretary
