Groups and networks
The Society supports and is supported by a large number of member groups and networks. These range from traditional clinical interest and occupational groups through to newer diversity groups and an innovative, web-based electronic network - interactiveCSP. Use this section of the site to find out more about the breadth of groups and networks now available and how you can use them as sources of information, development and support.
Clinical interest and occupational groups (CIOGs)
There are now over 50 CIOGs affiliated to the Society and new ones continue to emerge each year. Interest groups represent a distinct field of physiotherapy clinical practice that may be specific to a client group, a clinical area or a specific treatment approach or modality. The occupational groups all represent physiotherapists working in a specific occupational area. Examples of newer groups cover the areas of HIV, military medicine and hyperventilation.
Member groups
Regardless of the capacity and area in which you work, use this section of the site as a springboard to network with your peers. Dedicated pages exist for managers, assistants, students, educators, clinical educators, stewards, safety representatives and diversity network groups. Most of these pages in turn have links to recent news stories, newsletters and relevant publications. You can also use the CPD section of the site to find out about dedicated CPD networks such as the CPD coordinators network and the network for postgraduate education and CPD.
InteractiveCSP
InteractiveCSP - iCSP for short - is a free, easy-to-use website enabling members (and only members) to share knowledge based on each user's specific clinical, professional and workplace interests. It provides quick access to resources, including documents, news, events and useful websites, and also to peers through email and online discussions. The site launched in March 2006 following an earlier successful pilot project in the Northern and Yorkshire region: find out more about iCSP.
