Careers and learning
No matter what stage you are at in your career - contemplating a career in physiotherapy, applying for a degree programme, starting out as a newly qualified physiotherapist, looking into post-qualifying education, thinking of coming to work in the UK or returning to work after a career break - this section of the site has something to offer you.
Careers information
What is physiotherapy? What do physiotherapists do? Is physiotherapy the right career for me? Can work experience help? What qualifications are needed to apply? What study modes are available? If you are left wondering about the answers to any of these questions - or indeed have your own - take a look at our comprehensive list of careers frequently asked questions.
Also, see our 'Thinking of a career as a physiotherapist' leaflet.
Continuing professional development (CPD)
Have you started your own portfolio yet? Done any career mapping recently? Or perhaps you need help compiling your own personal development plan? If this is all sounding a little strange then use this section of the site to get started on your own CPD: dedicated pages provide you with a comprehensive range of ideas and supporting material to help you meet all your needs. Needless to say the content is relevant to qualified physiotherapists in all contexts (including returners), physiotherapy assistants and student physiotherapists.
Physiotherapy jobs
Time to move on? Use our online database to search through all the latest physiotherapy jobs. Our search tool allows you to find jobs by geographic region, salary range, mode of emnployment and Frontline category. Alternatively, do specific searches on job title or employer name - or just browse the entire listing.
Working internationally
If you are trained overseas and thinking of coming to work in the UK, or UK-trained and thinking of working overseas, our international section provides you with all the information and advice you need. All physiotherapists practising in the United Kingdom, including applicants from countries within the European Economic Area (EEA), are required by law to be registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC).
Returners
Thinking of returning to work after a career break? Use our guidance pack to find out more about periods of reorientation, HPC requirements for returners to practice, occupational settings, support and UK funding for returners and much, much more.
